Clubs of Western Sydney Charity Race Day

The annual Clubs Charity Race Day raised over $55,000 for The Millennium Foundation on Saturday 2nd August at Rosehill Gardens.

The day was proudly supported by the Clubs of Western Sydney with Alan Overton AO Chairman of Parramatta Leagues once again organising the event. Funds traditionally assist in the purchase or replacement of vital medical equipment and this year went to a ‘Microbeta’.

The MicroBeta evaluates the effects of drug treatment on cell growth and the determination of antibody-dependent cell killing. It also measures gene mutation. The equipment will benefit research into Immunology, Rheumatology, Leukaemia biology and Bone marrow transplant research.

The equipment will provide better understanding of human biology, causes of specific diseases, evaluation of cancer treatments and therapies that will aid bone marrow transplantations.

Thank you to Blacktown Workers Club, Club Managers’ Association Australia, ClubsNSW, Guildford Leagues, Mounties, Parramatta Leagues Club, St Marys Leagues Club and Wenty Leagues.
